sponges
pinecone transfer pattern
#4 round brush
#12 flat brush
#8 flat brush
#10-0 liner brush
Instructions:
1. Sponge background with Glorious Gold and Titanium White. Paint routed edge with Glorious Gold. Let dry.
2. Trace and transfer pattern.
3. Load #4 round brush with Dark Chocolate and tip with Titanium White. Beginning at the pine cone bottom, make fan strokes at each pattern edge.
4. Basecoat leaves with Forest Green.
5. Side load #12 flat brush with Hauser Dark Green to shade. Repeat with Cadmium Yellow to highlight.
6. Use liner brush and Dark Chocolate to pull lines for pine branches.
7. Pour separate puddles of Hauser Light Green and Hauser Dark Green onto palette; thin both with water. Beginning at a branch tip, use liner brush and Hauser Dark Green to randomly pull lines at the top and bottom to create pine needles. Repeat with Hauser Light Green.
8. Basecoat berries with Santa Red. Take #8 flat brush and load one side with Dark Chocolate (for shade) and one side with Cadmium Yellow (to highlight). This technique is called double-loading.
9. Mix 2 parts Titanium White with 1 part Dark Chocolate; outline pine cones with this mixture using a liner brush.
10. Use liner brush and Lamp Black to paint berry stems.
11. Sideload #8 flat brush with Dark Chocolate and shade under leaves.
