Painting instructions:
1. Use #12 flat brush to basecoat inside of tray with Uniform Blue and the tray edge with Deep Burgundy.
2. Trace and transfer pattern.
3. Use a Deerfoot brush to stipple Titanium White lightly over bodies of snowmen. Intensify stippling around arms, outside edges, and snowballs in bucket. The lighter stippling will allow Uniform Blue to show through for shadows.
4. Use #8 flat brush to paint left hat and bucket Lavender; vest and right scarf Santa Red; center scarf, right toboggan, stars, and broom straw Cadmium Yellow; and center earmuffs with a 3:1 mixture of Cadmium Yellow and Forest Green.
5. Using a dampened #12 flat brush and Titanium White, float snow across bottom under snowmen.
6. Use a liner brush and 2:1 mix of Cadmium Yellow and Santa Red to paint carrot noses.
7. Use the brush handle and Lamp Black to dot on eyes. Use a liner brush and Lamp Black to paint mouths, buttonholes, and earmuff band. Highlight eyes with a small dot of Titanium White.
8. Use a liner brush to paint broomstick Dark Chocolate. Highlight with Cadmium Yellow. 9. Side-load #8 flat brush with a small amount of Uniform Blue. Shade under hats and deepen shading where desired.
10. Use #8 flat brush side-loaded with Deep Burgundy to shade bottom of red vest, under head, and along scarf.
11. Mix a small amount of Dark Chocolate with Cadmium Yellow. Side-load #8 flat brush with mix and shade yellow scarf and hat.
12. Use a liner brush and Cadmium Yellow to paint buttons on red vest. Use Lamp Black to paint an X on each button.
13. Use liner and white to highlight broom straw with pressure strokes. Thin white with water and use liner to paint snowflakes and letters on bucket.
14. Use liner and Dark Chocolate thinned with water to pull sprig stems around tray edge and make stitch marks on the broom straw.
15. Use #4 round and Forest Green to do random comma stroke leaves on sprig stems. Dont fill in the whole area. Repeat with Forest Green tipped with Titanium White in open areas and over some of the first strokes.
16. Use Santa Red and cotton swab to make berries next to sprigs. Highlight with a dot of white.
